Phifer HallReese Phifer Hall is the home of the College of Communication and Information Sciences. The building includes the Center for Public Television and Radio and the studios of Alabama Public Radio, WVUA 90.7 radio, and WVUA 7 television.

Phifer Hall was constructed in 1929 as the Alabama Union and was first occupied in 1930. It served as the student union for more than 40 years and housed activities and offices such as the Student Government Association, campus supply store, cafeteria, post office, Million Dollar Band, and student newspaper.
