University Medical Center, which opened on May 11, 2004, is the country's premier academic medical center for training physicians in the practice of family medicine. The building is home to the College of Community Health Sciences and houses the School of Medicine, Tuscaloosa.
University Medical Center serves UA faculty and staff, and members of the Tuscaloosa-area community, as the only multispecialty clinic in Tuscaloosa. Affiliated with the University of Alabama School of Medicine, headquartered in Birmingham, the center offers seven clinical services: family medicine, internal medicine, minor surgery, OB/GYN, occupational medicine, pediatric, and psychiatry clinics.
