Bevill Research BuildingThe Tom Bevill Energy, Mineral, and Materials Science Research Building is home to the Aquatic Ecology Program and Department of Geological Sciences, units of the College of Arts & Sciences.

The building, which opened in 1990, also houses several College of Engineering units: Department of Chemical Engineering, Engineering Research Laboratory, Environmental Institute, Southeast Regional Center of the National Institute for Global Environmental Change, Metal Casting Technology Center, Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, and Sponsored Engineering Programs.

Laboratory space totals almost 17,000 square feet, including 1,000 square feet for a Class 100 and a Class 1000 clean room.

The Center for Materials for Information Technology (MINT), Aging Infrastructure Systems Center of Excellence, and School of Mines and Energy Development also reside in the Bevill building.
